KPS Life is looking to hire a Manager, Site Contracts with significant experience in site negotiation and budget development within the pharmaceutical clinical trial space. SummaryFor assigned clinical studies, responsible for drafting, negotiating, and executing global site contracts (or managing the vendors for outsourced contracting), reviewing vendors’ and/or sites’ proposed changes to standard contract terms and the budget parameters (in partnership with other business lines internally), ensuring the delivery of high quality, compliant, effective, and timely work product and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Manage specified group systems and processes
- Fine-tune and enhance the SMO contracting approach and handle all SMO agreements in a manner that drives efficiencies and optimizes costs
- Assist with on-boarding, training, and mentoring peers (including handling delegated tasks as needed, e.g., first-level budget escalations)
- Provide subject matter expertise for assigned therapeutic areas and support high priority, complex studies
- Assist with updating the site contracting processes
- Engage with the study teams from early planning throughout the end-to-end contracting lifecycle
- Develop and enhance relationships with internal clients, internal stakeholders, vendors, and sites
- Partner with colleagues in the Law Department and other stakeholder groups
- Ensure that vendors are enhancing site relationships and conducting issue resolution of moderate to high complexity
- Meet with study teams regularly and prioritize assignments
- Manage and address changes to study scope, ensuring timely contract amendment and implementation
- Lead ongoing, group-specific process improvements
- Single point of contact for internal client, vendors, and site counterparts for assigned studies
- Demonstrates a strong knowledge and expertise of site budget and contract negotiations that drives new business and executive decisions.
- Makes decisions on complex issues regarding work approach for project components and completion of team tasks and responsibilities
- Works on unique and complex assignments/projects independently that require independent judgment in evaluating criteria to obtain results where no precedent is available
- Guides and mentors staff at all levels and provides advice to senior management on complex/strategic issues
- Ability to effectively manage and maintain systems and tools
- Ability to mitigate and drive solutions regarding investigator site contracting challenges
- Ability to influence vendors and internal stakeholders
- Required minimum of 7 years of direct experience with clinical site contracting and budgeting at a biopharmaceutical company, or vendor managing broader systems and processes, and participating in cross-stakeholder initiatives
- Bachelor's Degree required (J.D. or MBA preferred)
