Role Description
This is a full‑time hybrid position for a Director of Projects specializing in Retail and Facility Construction, located in Mount Laurel, NJ, with opportunities for partial remote work. The responsibilities include overseeing retail and facility construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets, managing operations, and guiding project teams. The Director of Projects will work closely with stakeholders to deliver high‑quality outcomes while communicating effectively with clients and internal teams.
Additional expectations for this role include building and scaling our Projects Department:
- Build and lead the projects team (PMs/coordinators) and create repeatable systems, templates, and SOPs.
- Develop and maintain a reliable bench of general contractors and subcontractors by trade and region.
- Drive change‑order discipline, closeout documentation, and faster billing/collections to protect cash flow.
Qualifications
- Experience in Retail and Facility Construction, with a comprehensive understanding of industry standards and project execution.
- Proficiency in Team Management and Operations Management to build and guide effective project teams.
- Strong skills in Sales and Budgeting (estimating, pricing, and margin control) to ensure financial goals are met while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication abilities to manage projects and liaise with stakeholders effectively.
- Proven experience in driving project quality and client satisfaction.
- Hands‑on experience managing permitting, inspections, and multi‑jurisdiction requirements is strongly preferred.
- Flexibility to work both on‑site in Mount Laurel, NJ, and remotely as required by project needs.
- A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
