Position: Court Services Supervisor 2 (Family)

Court Services Supervisor 2 (Family) – New Jersey Courts

We are a 8,500‑member organization dedicated to delivering fair, impartial, and high‑quality court services to the public. As a Court Services Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the Family Division’s case‑management team operates efficiently, adheres to legal and administrative standards, and maintains the confidence of the community we serve.

Salary: $72,030.32 – $ (Schedule A) or $72,030.32 – $ (Schedule B). New hires typically start at the minimum of the range; current employees receive a 5 % increase upon promotion, capped at the top of the band or the lowest salary of the level, whichever is greater.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily operations of a case‑management team, including professionals, paraprofessionals, and support staff both in‑person and remotely.
  • Regulate workflow per operating schedules and ensure compliance with human‑resource policies, statutes, regulations, and court rules.
  • Advise management on personnel matters, investigate disciplinary actions, and address performance deficiencies.
  • Compile and analyze statistical data on workload volume and court/unit efficiency.
  • Coordinate work across units or teams, monitor backlog, and implement strategies to achieve organizational goals.
  • Interact daily with judges and their chamber staff; respond to inquiries from the public, clients, customers, subordinates, supervisors, and managers.
  • Oversee staff scheduling, vacation time, special projects, and conflict mediation; review reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and staff engagement; recommend solutions to critical work problems and lead initiatives to meet time and quality standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three years of professional experience, including at least one year in case‑management, court‑order enforcement, or supervision of offenders.
  • Substitutions:
    Associate degree with two additional years of experience;
    Master’s degree with one year of general experience; or law degree with two years of experience. Credits may be substituted for experience on a year‑for‑year basis (30 semester hours = one year of experience).
  • Proficiency with automated systems (FACTS, NJKIDS, eTRO) and virtual platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams) is a plus.
  • Ability to interact with community leaders, agencies, stakeholders, and organizations.
Other Information
  • Hybrid work schedule: up to two days of remote work may be authorized with a secure high‑speed home internet connection.
  • Driver’s license required only if vehicle operation is essential to the role.
  • Citizenship not required; applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Security clearance: a thorough background check, including fingerprinting, must be completed by new hires.
  • Residency: all new hires must establish a principal residence in New Jersey within one year, unless an exemption is granted.
