Green Dot Public Schools seeks a highly skilled Area Operations and Finance Manager to oversee operations, continuous improvement projects, budgeting, and forecasting for a portfolio of schools in the Los Angeles area. The role requires exceptional analytical and communication abilities and a passion for transforming public education.
Essential Responsibilities- Operational Leadership & School Support – Oversee all operational and fiscal functions for assigned schools, ensuring consistent, high-quality execution across enrollment, nutrition services, facilities, security, IT, and financial operations.
- Manage daily non‑academic functions, coordinate between school-based teams and Home Office departments.
- Supervise School Operations Managers, providing coaching, professional development, and capacity building across facilities, nutrition, budgeting, payroll, procurement, data systems, health services, enrollment, compliance.
- Lead operational readiness for the opening and closing of each school year.
- Financial Planning & Resource Management – Partner with principals to develop, monitor, and refine school budgets; conduct financial analyses; prepare monthly year‑end forecast updates.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure strategic, compliant use of resources and oversee restricted funds.
- Strengthen procurement processes, manage vendor relationships, and identify cost savings.
- Analyze operational & financial data to inform school‑level and network‑wide decisions.
- Partner with Attendance Program Manager to set school attendance priorities and oversee ADA strategy implementation.
- Facilities & Safety Management – Oversee facilities budgets, expenses, scheduling, maintenance; support budgeting processes and contribute to capital project planning under $150K.
- Ensure safe, compliant campuses through collaboration with facilities and site operations teams.
- Enrollment & Student Recruitment – Partner with the Director of Enrollment to establish recruitment goals and oversee implementation of strategies; ensure schools execute high‑quality recruitment, outreach, and enrollment processes that meet annual targets.
- Leadership, Collaboration & Team Management – Provide oversight for key operational domains; develop operations staff; build strong working relationships with school leaders and Home Office operations leadership; serve as primary connector between schools and Home Office departments.
- Training, Process Improvement & Professional Development – Partner with Director of Operations to develop and deliver training; lead continuous improvement efforts to streamline processes, strengthen systems, and elevate operational performance across multiple schools; identify and share best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in a fast‑paced, highly analytical professional environment; 2‑3 years managing school operations with charter school experience highly preferred.
- 2+ years of experience managing others in a professional environment.
- Strong financial acumen.
- Experience designing and facilitating differentiated professional development sessions.

Starting salary range: $90,000 – $110,000. Individual education and experience will be considered when issuing offers.
