Job Summary

Project Manager will act as the liaison between Flintco, owner representatives, major subcontractors, architects and engineers, and provide valuable input based on construction expertise to benefit the project. The role is responsible for supervising project personnel, ensuring projects are completed in compliance with Flintco 4 LIFE, within budget and on schedule, and for overall management direction, resource allocation and client satisfaction. Supervision extends to Project Engineers, Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Project Administrators and other subordinate staff.

The position may require travel and remote work out of state.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review preparation and culmination of project estimates and bids, and collaborate with management in selecting and assigning project personnel.
  • Review the selection of subcontractors, contract arrangements and proposed materials and shop drawings from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Review with project personnel the preliminary and detailed project schedule.
  • Ensure all required project‑management and administrative prerequisites (cash‑flow plan, subcontractor lists, manufacturer lists, submittal/procurement logs, etc.) are prepared, submitted to the architect, and administered properly.
  • Collaborate with the Project Superintendent to oversee delivery of materials to the job site or storage and ensure receipt is properly recorded.
  • Monitor construction activities, resolve problems and issues, especially those pertaining to changes, deficiencies or subcontractor performance; review monthly project status reports, project billings, and provide information to keep upper management and the client informed.
  • Ensure completion of punch‑list items and submission of close‑out documentation (drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, warranties). Participate in and expedite settlement of final disputes, litigation and final payment dispositions.
Management Responsibilities

May supervise project‑management personnel and field crews.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

Ability to prepare detailed construction project plans, schedules and estimates; read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings and technical specifications; calculate square footage, volumes and percentages; communicate effectively in writing and orally; apply geometry, trigonometry and algebra; use personal computers and standard software; manage project teams and delegate to achieve desired results.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

At least 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in construction management, including estimating, project management, scheduling, cost control and personnel administration.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

Professional certification such as LEED AP, DBIA or ASHRAE is a plus.

  • Stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk or hear regularly.
  • Occasionally sit, lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Mental stress may be taxing when managing multiple projects or during problematic project phases.
  • May be required to work long hours for extended periods.
Special Job Dimensions

Work occurs in a safe and healthy environment with adequate heating, cooling, lighting and furnishings. In fabrication shops, warehouses, maintenance shops or project sites the employee may be exposed to moving machinery, high or precarious places, tight quarters, fumes, welding, chemicals, potential falling rock and weather conditions. Risk of electrical shock and vibration are possible. Noise level is generally loud.

NOTE – Where allowed, employees who work in positions classified as “safety‑sensitive” can be disciplined if they test positive for marijuana or its metabolites, even if they have a valid state medical marijuana license. Flintco may also refuse to hire applicants for safety‑sensitive jobs who test positive for marijuana as part of a pre‑employment drug test, even if those applicants can produce a valid medical marijuana patient license.
