Operations Manager
Mark Thomas is hiring a Project Manager to join our transportation team. The Project Manager will develop new and repeat business, manage all aspects of multiple projects using company project controls, available staff, and sub‑consultant resources, and develop and maintain long‑standing client relationships. Supervisory responsibilities include training, development, and mentoring of direct reports and assigned staff. The Project Manager must keep a broad view of each project and communicate it through direct, ongoing communication with staff, clients, and sub‑consultants.

Responsibilities- Leads project teams to successful completion of quality deliverables.
- Provides project delivery oversight and accountability for assigned projects.
- Effectively communicates (verbal and written) technical approach to projects and successful proposal strategies to staff, clients, and sub‑consultants.
- Performs the necessary functions and tasks to manage direct reports effectively.
- Manages quality, budget, and schedule of responsible projects.
- Engages with all aspects of project proposals.
- Participates in project interviews with potential/existing clients.
- Communicates effectively to all levels within the organization.
- Develops and leads a cohesive team to achieve project objectives.
- Generates sufficient business to sustain and grow responsible group.
- Engages and participates in recruiting and retention activities.
- Promotes and supports an inclusive work environment.
- Performs project and administrative work as appropriate.
- 8 - 10+ years progressively responsible experience.
- BS in civil engineering or related discipline required.
- California Professional Engineer (PE) license required; or PE in another state with the ability to obtain CA licensure within one year.
- Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of general engineering and design principles.
- Proficient in MS PowerPoint and MS Project.
- Knowledge of overall project deliverable processes (PSR, PAED, PS&E).
- Knowledge of effective business development practices.
- Competent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of project financials and metrics.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management practices.
- Demonstrated ability to direct and delegate work assignments.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a variety of unique and diverse people and personalities.

- The offered base rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location.
