Job DescriptionA leading global diagnostics firm specializing in immunodiagnostic and molecular diagnostic solutions for clinical laboratories is seeking a Vice President of Global Sales. The firm focuses on gastrointestinal and infectious disease testing, providing innovative assays and PCR-based tools that support accurate, efficient, and reliable results. It offers comprehensive end‑to‑end solutions from sample extraction to results, enabling healthcare providers to expand diagnostic capabilities and improve patient outcomes.
The Vice President of Global Sales will lead the global sales function for instruments, assays, and consumables. Reporting to the CEO, the role defines the global selling strategy, encompassing direct sales, distribution, service, and support. It includes overseeing a US Director Sales team of 8 people and an European/International Sales Director team of 16 people, steering both teams toward a 20% growth target.
The position is US remote with support from a 10‑plus global marketing team.
- Collaborate with the global leadership team to build short‑term and medium‑term sales strategy and sales channels/networks.
- Develop and present the Annual Global Sales Plan to achieve financial and budget expectations.
- Contribute to global launch strategies and expand product portfolios in the US and Europe.
- Lead team to achieve Annual Sales Plan and key business/financial goals.
- Provide commercial input into product development, quality, compliance, and lifecycle programs.
- Establish performance standards for the sales team and mentor members.
- Oversee direct sales teams in the US and distribution networks in the European/International regions, executing global pricing strategy.
- Ensure effective management of global quality and product supply issues.
- Identify growth opportunities and potential concepts to support long‑term portfolio strategy.
- Implement and maintain best practices in sales effectiveness, funnel management, CRM, and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and safety regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in life science or business (MBA strongly preferred).
- Minimum 8 years of strategic sales & marketing and business management experience, at least 10 years in medical device/diagnostics, with direct supervision of professional associates.
- Experience developing and managing Corporate/National Accounts Groups in the US.
- Strong knowledge in strategic selling, global distribution management, planning, and tactical selling & execution.
- Proven track record in delivering large projects and influencing business outcomes.
- Strategic thinker capable of developing and implementing marketing and product strategies.
- Knowledge of the clinical and laboratory market, especially Molecular Diagnostics, PCR Instrumentation, Immunology & Infectious Diseases preferred.
- Strong financial, analytical, and decision‑making capabilities, able to act even without consensus.
- Creative thinker with excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills, motivating change in selling Capital Equipment Systems via Direct Selling and Distribution Channels.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship‑building abilities.
- Ability to manage $50-100+ million sales and 25-50+ staff groups, with strong organization and flexibility for multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
