Purpose

of Role

The Construction Lead will provide leadership and oversight for the delivery of a major $1.5 billion pharmaceutical facility. This position represents the client, ensuring all work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.

The Construction Lead will act as the principal interface between the client and the Construction Management (CM) firm, driving performance across all field execution activities from early works through to mechanical completion and turnover. This role reports to the Program Lead and requires remote working within North America and travel as required (must be within a two‑hour flight of Boston or Philadelphia).

Key

Accountabilities

Accountable for leading all field construction activities to achieve safe, on‑schedule, and right‑first‑time delivery of a $1.5B pharmaceutical facility, ensuring alignment with approved scope, budget, schedule and quality standards.

Ensure construction execution meets the highest technical standards, with specific focus on process, piping, HVAC, electrical, and instrumentation installations, mechanical completion, and turnover documentation quality.

Uphold and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring all work complies with client and regulatory Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards and industry best practices.

Act as the principal client‑side construction representative, fostering effective collaboration and accountability with the Construction Management counterpart through clear communication, decisive leadership, and proactive issue resolution.

Responsibilities
  • Lead daily and weekly coordination meetings with the Construction Management team, ensuring alignment on priorities, safety, quality, and progress.
  • Drive right‑first‑time execution by promoting disciplined installation practices, quality control, and accountability across all contractors.
  • Oversee field execution, logistics planning, and constructability reviews, ensuring methods are efficient and compliant with design and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and report on construction KPIs (productivity, percent complete, earned value, change management, and quality metrics).
  • Conduct site audits, inspections, and leadership walkdowns, verifying installation quality and adherence to approved drawings and specifications.
  • Review and approve construction completion, turnover, and system handover documentation, ensuring all deliverables meet quality and regulatory standards.
