Role OverviewAs a Corporate Tax Compliance Manager/Senior Manager at Streets Chartered Accountants, you will be at the forefront of managing all aspects of corporate tax compliance for a diverse range of large business clients. You will collaborate closely with our audit teams to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to client service. Additionally, you will lead and grow a team of tax professionals, driving the expansion of our tax practice in line with our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities- Corporate Tax Compliance Management:
- Lead the preparation, review, and submission of corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with UK tax legislation.
- Oversee the entire compliance lifecycle, from data collection to final submission and client approval.
- Collaborate closely with audit teams to align tax compliance efforts with broader financial audits, ensuring a seamless integration of services.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Build, manage, and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance.
- Play a central role in the recruitment and development of new team members, supporting our strategic investment in the tax practice.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set clear objectives, and provide coaching to support the professional growth of your team.
- Research & Technical Review:
- Perform detailed technical reviews of tax computations and filings, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with current legislation.
- Stay ahead of legislative changes, conducting tax research to support client needs and informing internal knowledge sharing.
- Approve final tax returns before submission, maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on all compliance matters, providing expert advice and proactive communication.
- Develop a deep understanding of each client’s business, enabling you to offer tailored tax compliance solutions that align with their strategic goals.
- Support clients during tax audits and enquiries, working closely with them to ensure accurate and effective responses to HMRC.
- Process Improvement & Innovation:
- Continuously assess and enhance tax compliance processes, incorporating best practices and technology.
- Introduce and manage the implementation of new software tools to improve efficiency and accuracy in tax compliance.
- Work closely with other departments, particularly audit, to streamline processes and improve service delivery.
- Strategic Growth & Business Development:
- Contribute to the strategic growth of the tax practice by identifying new business opportunities and expanding service offerings.
- Participate in business development activities, including client pitches, proposals, and networking events.
- Play a key role in shaping the future of the tax practice, with clear opportunities for promotion as the firm continues to grow.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in corporate tax compliance, with experience managing large business clients and leading a team.
- Certifications: CTA/ACA qualification or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency with Alphatax or similar tax software; deep knowledge of UK corporate tax laws and regulations.
