Contract Officer – Legal Team
This full‑time (1.0 FTE) post is available immediately on a fixed‑term basis until December 2027. The role offers hybrid working, with a minimum of two days per week in the office, and the option to work from home on other days.
We welcome applications from candidates who wish to work part‑time hours or engage in job‑sharing arrangements. Internal secondment is possible with approval from your current line manager.
The Contracts Officer will work within the Legal Team and support the University’s education portfolio, drafting and negotiating contracts with third parties such as other universities, government agencies, charities and businesses.
- Draft and negotiate contracts for education-related activities.
- Support study‑abroad and academic partnership agreements with global universities.
- Negotiate placement contracts with commercial and third‑sector partners.
- Assist with contracting for medical and clinical programmes.
- Contribute to degree apprenticeship projects and other commercial education initiatives.
- Provide legal advice on larger education projects and handle ad‑hoc requests.
Key skills and experience:
- Experience with contract drafting and negotiation.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a busy team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to a range of education and commercial matters.
