This is a dedicated, full-time role supporting a primary PEO client and requires consistent availability and long-term engagement.
- Handle administrative charges, attorney demand letters, and employment litigation matters, including EPLI-covered claims for a specific insurer.
- Develop case strategy; draft and review pleadings and motions; conduct and defend depositions; and represent clients in hearings, conferences, mediations, and trials.
- Supervise and mentor attorneys and legal staff; coordinate with partners, associates, paralegals, and shared support teams.
- Maintain proactive communication with the PEO client, its clients, and the insurance carrier.
- Focus primarily on single-plaintiff matters, with potential involvement in class actions and PAGA cases.
- Travel within Northern California as needed.
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Seven or more years of employment law and litigation experience.
- Active bar membership in good standing;
California admission is required. - Preferred: experience working independently in a remote environment; experience with Professional Employer Organizations; experience managing high-volume matters for a large client; and experience handling EPLI claims and carrier relationships.
This role offers remote flexibility; however, candidates must reside in Northern California and be readily available for ongoing in-person court appearances, depositions, and related proceedings.
Benefits- Comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off; paid parental leave; a 401(k) plan with carve-out election and profit-sharing; life insurance; long-term disability coverage; employee assistance program; and optional benefits such as critical care, accident, hospital indemnity insurance, student loan refinancing, dependent life insurance, and pet insurance.
The annual salary range for this position is $190,000 - $205,000, with actual base pay determined by factors such as the selected billable hours target.
