To be clear, this role is not one to hide out in. If you think this is the role for you, you are ready to grind with us for a full workday week‑in and week‑out. The ideal candidate will be ready to get to work on tasks they’re qualified for right away and will be eager to put in the work learning the things they don’t know so that they can take on more tasks in the near to mid‑future.
They will take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal hand holding.
This is a remote position, but you will be expected to attend court in person from time to time. You will be working 40 hours per week. Your pay will be $80,000 with a very rewarding bonus structure that can allow you to earn into six figures based on performance.

- Thoroughly review client files to ensure the client’s financial situation is accurately reflected in the bankruptcy documents.
- Identify potential issues in a client’s situation and develop a strategy to assist clients in preparing to file for bankruptcy.
- Counsel clients on pre‑filing strategy and process, meeting clients where they are while ensuring they understand their options and can make the best choice for themselves.
- Assist in the management of case pipelines to ensure bottlenecks don’t form and that cases don’t stall out in document collection or production.
- Meticulously review bankruptcy documents prepared by the team to confirm they accurately reflect the client’s financial situation comply with the bankruptcy code and local rules.
- Review and finalize chapter 7 and chapter 13 means tests and chapter 13 plans in accordance with all relevant laws and local rules.
- Review and respond to motions and objections.
- Review proofs of claims.
- Ensure all case deadlines are met.
- Confidently and calmly manage a small team (2 to
3) to provide quality, knowledgeable, and compassionate service to an active docket. - Regularly report case statuses, issues, and questions to a managing attorney.
- Actively, and with excellent bedside manner, communicate with clients via email, phone, and Zoom to address case issues, answer questions, review cases, prepare them for 341 meetings, and more.
- Attend 341 meetings of creditors and other hearings as required; some may be in person.
- Licensed to practice law in Texas.
- Admitted to practice in the Federal Court; admission to the districts in Texas is preferred.
- Eighteen months of experience as a bankruptcy attorney managing clients, case preparation, and post‑filing tasks.
- Chapter 13 experience is preferred but not required; must be proficient in Chapter 7s and ready to hit the ground running to learn Chapter 13s.
$80,000 yearly + rewarding bonus structure.
