Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney

Our client is a boutique workers' compensation firm dedicated to employers and insurance carriers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney role is a fully remote position managing a caseload of Workers' Compensation matters, including court appearances across New Jersey, with focus on the southern vicinage's.

• Analyze complex legal/factual issues and conduct thorough research
• Develop and present defense strategies
• Draft pleadings, discovery responses, briefs, and related materials
• Collaborate with clients to achieve optimal results
• Communicate effectively with clients, courts, witnesses, and opposing counsel
• Manage cases efficiently and prepare/present evidence at hearings and trials
• Draft and argue appellate briefs
• Participate in team huddles, training, file reviews, and continuing education

• 7+ years of Workers' Compensation experience, including trials and motion practice
• JD and active New Jersey license
• Strong research, writing, and courtroom skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and comfort with new technology
• Organized, self-directed, and collaborative

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the State of New Jersey (in good standing).
• 1-10 years of experience specifically in New Jersey workers' compensation defense required.
• Strong litigation, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently and independently.
• Experience with case management software is a plus.
