Associate Attorney Estate Planning

Overview

This role is designed for an attorney in the early stages of their career who wants hands-on experience in estate planning within a relationship-driven, growth-oriented firm. The Associate Attorney will work closely with the firm’s owner and support team while progressively taking on greater responsibility for client matters. The role will be a hybrid position (mix of work from home/remote work and in-person in Chicago, IL).

The associate will participate in and lead client-facing meetings, including initial consultations, estate plan design meetings, and signing meetings. You will help guide clients through thoughtful decision-making, explain legal concepts in clear and approachable language, and ensure clients feel supported and informed throughout the process. Associates are expected to be responsive, organized, and proactive in maintaining ongoing client relationships, including plan updates and follow-ups as clients’ lives evolve.

Associates are also expected to participate in business development in a supported and authentic way. This includes building referral relationships, attending and participating in events, contributing to educational content or workshops, and developing their own book of business over time. Training and mentorship are provided, but comfort with relationship-building and a growth mindset are essential.
