Conflicts Attorney (J.D. Required – No Bar License Needed)
Location: Century City, CA (Fully in‑office during onboarding; hybrid or fully remote after probation)
Compensation: $175,000–$230,000 annually
About the OpportunityA respected national law firm is seeking a Conflicts Attorney to join its centralized conflicts team. This non‑practicing attorney role is ideal for someone who enjoys analytical, research‑driven work and wants to play a key part in ensuring compliance with ethical and business conflict standards.
You will work closely with the Conflicts team, attorneys throughout the firm, and the Office of General Counsel to evaluate and resolve potential conflicts of interest. This team consists of five professionals
—two Conflicts Attorneys, two Conflicts Analysts, and a Conflicts Manager—who collectively handle conflicts for the entire firm.
The firm has recently updated its in‑office expectations and is now open to greater flexibility for this position. After an initial fully in‑office probation period (typically 2–4 months depending on readiness), candidates may transition to hybrid or fully remote work

- Conduct comprehensive research into relevant parties to identify or resolve potential conflicts of interest
- Review and analyze conflict reports; prepare clear summaries with recommended resolution steps
- Serve as an escalation point for Conflicts Analysts and support them through issue resolution
- Draft and analyze conflict waivers, engagement letters, and ethical wall memoranda
- Work with responsible attorneys and General Counsel to determine engagement terms
- When needed, negotiate engagement terms, outside counsel guidelines, and waiver language with clients
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) required
- Minimum 2 years of conflicts experience within a law firm or similar environment
- Strong analytical, research, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys and administrative teams
- Salary: $175,000–$230,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
