Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for a Temp-to-Perm Senior Contracts Specialist in the New York City area.
Overview: Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Contract Specialist with a strong corporate finance background.
Company: Financial services, global hedge fund firm based in New York City.
Experience: Successful candidates will have a minimum of 10-15 years of experience with a combination of law firm and in-house experience in corporate finance and governance.
Location: The role is full-time 5-days per week in their NYC office. Occasional remote work available as needed.
Salary: A permanent position will be offered to the right candidate after a brief temporary period and includes a very competitive compensation package of base and cash bonus plus the opportunity to receive other benefits.
Responsibilities Include:
- 40 hours a week expected;
Occasional overtime as needed. - Dual reporting into the legal team and senior counsel.
- Assist with various legal department needs including filings and entity formation.
- Assist with document and data management.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the role, combination of in-house or law firm in the areas of:
- Understand and support regulatory and legal frameworks:
Apply knowledge of regulatory requirements and trading agreement types (e.g., ISDAs, CSAs, prime brokerage, clearing agreements) to support regulatory adherences (Dodd-Frank, EMIR, UK/Ireland/Asia) - Manage/negotiate standard and non-standard provisions in trading agreements (escalating to counsel as appropriate).
- Collaborate with internal teams (trading, operations, treasury) to support account openings and facilitate documentation workflows.
- Looking for a dynamic person who is a career paralegal with agility and ‘rockstar’ capabilities
- Enjoys working in a dynamic team environment, is detail oriented, communicates effectively, willing to work autonomously, thinks out of the box and consistently strives to improve processes.
Qualifications Include:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Career contract specialist;
Candidates with multiple roles in short-timeframe will not be considered. - Experience with preparing various regulatory filings, corporate governance matters (including coordinating board and committee meetings, drafting and posting board materials, and maintaining books and records)
- Experience with the deal closing processes including obtaining necessary signatures and negotiating and drafting related contracts with attorney oversight.
