A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join their team in Tampa, Florida. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in civil litigation, particularly in insurance defense, who are eager to advance their careers in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Duties
- Manage a caseload of first-party property insurance defense files from start to finish.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
- Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
- Participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop effective litigation strategies.
- Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients in high-stakes situations.
- Stay informed on case law and industry trends in Florida insurance litigation.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the Florida Bar.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably in insurance defense or related fields.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Experience in litigation and case management, including depositions and hearings.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented with a passion for client advocacy.
Education
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Certifications
- Active membership in the Florida Bar.
