Position Summary:

We are seeking an in-house attorney with three years of experience to join our legal team. Reporting to our General Counsel, this role is a key member of a small, high-performing team that will focus on risk management through litigation & claims management, contract review & drafting, and assisting the team with other legal matters. The ideal candidate will have experience with health care law, with the ability to navigate a high volume of legal matters in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Manage ongoing legal matters ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and timely cross-functional team collaboration

Develop and implement risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate potential legal risks affecting the business

Conduct in-house audits, reviewing and revising policies, practices, and programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Provide legal advice on operational procedures, and other operational matters

Collaborate cross-functionally to develop policies and procedures that align with legal and regulatory requirements

Conduct legal research and maintain awareness of changes in legislation affecting the business

Ensure the organization’s corporate practices are aligned with its core values and adhere to the highest ethical standards

Obtain and understand the necessary technical and business requirements to prioritize protection of the company’s brand, reputation and assets

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and admission to the bar (Florida bar license preferred)

Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on case management. Insurance defense experience preferred.

A broad range of business knowledge and skills (customer relations, human resources, sales, marketing and financial management)

Excellent legal research, writing and critical thinking skills

Proven experience in drafting and negotiating contracts

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills

Self-disciplined with the ability to prioritize and triage workload

Highly adaptable to shifting priorities, maintaining strong attention to detail and the ability to handle time-sensitive matters with energy and resilience

Embodies high standards of integrity, professionalism and selflessness, setting an example for others
