Seeking a skilled and motivated Insurance Defense Associate with 4-7 years of experience to join our litigation team.
This role offers meaningful, hands‑on involvement in all stages of insurance defense litigation
, including independent file carriage
, with ongoing mentorship and collaboration from senior counsel. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is committed to delivering high‑quality legal work and strong client outcomes.
- Manage a caseload independently from inception through resolution, with appropriate supervision and support
- Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and trial preparation
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and correspondence with a high level of accuracy and advocacy
- Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and resolution strategy discussions
- Maintain direct communication with clients, insurers, and opposing counsel
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex litigation matters and trial strategy
- Motor vehicle accident litigation (tort and accident benefits)
- Catastrophic and complex injury claims
- Priority and loss transfer disputes
- Coverage, indemnity, and policy interpretation matters
- Subrogation claims and recovery actions
- Professional liability and general negligence claims
- 4-7 years of experience practicing in insurance defense and/or personal injury litigation
- Strong legal research, drafting, and advocacy skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and negotiation abilities
- Proven client management and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple files efficiently and meet deadlines
