Overview
The Law Offices of Joseph
A. Marra, PLLC, a growing, dynamic four-attorney firm in Yonkers, NY, is seeking a highly organized, responsible Paralegal/Legal Secretary with experience to assist the firm with legal matters involving Wills, Trusts, Estate Administration, and Estate Planning. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who can work independently and who enjoys working with people. Convenient location and office.

Salary Range:
Annual $60,000.00 to $80,000.00 depending upon experience, plus bonus.
- Assisting attorneys with preparing legal documents such as Powers of Attorney, Trusts, and related estate planning documents using MS Word.
- Will execution ceremonies.
- Organization of information about various parties involved in a particular case.
- Organization of information of a client’s or decedent’s assets, such as bank statements or income tax returns.
- Speaking to court personnel regarding outstanding cases.
- Electronic filing of documents, i.e., via NYSCEF.
- Preparing Informal Estate Accountings.
- Greeting clients and helping them to feel comfortable, valued, and welcomed.
- Answering telephones in a courteous, professional, and upbeat manner.
- Scheduling client appointments, closings, motions, etc.
- Helping to keep the office neat and clean.
- Filing of legal and financial documentation.
- Scheduling community events for the attorneys.
- Opening, sorting, and delivering mail to the appropriate parties.
- Signing attorneys up for CLEs, networking events, etc.
- Opening new files.
- Reviewing the daily calendar with attorneys and staff.
- Depositing the mail with the USPS.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the legal field (Estate Planning and/or Estate Probate/Administration).
- Ability to Work Independently and Efficiently.
- Good Organizational Skills
- Good Phone Manners
- 60 WPM Typing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Organized
- Calm Under Pressure
- Polished
- Articulate
- Computer Literate
- Experience with, or the Ability to master, Hot Docs, Clio, Quicken, and similar programs.
- Professional
- Excellent People Skills
- Patience
- Be Able to Climb Two (2) Flights of Stairs Daily and Lift 20 Lbs
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus
- Residence in Westchester County or Bronx County preferred.
- Will submit to a background and/or drug test
- MS Office with proficiency in Word and Excel. Knowledge of Clio or similar Practice Management Software is a plus.
