We are seeking to recruit an experienced lawyer in the field of clinical negligence to join our growing team. If you would like to make a positive difference and work in an organisation which truly values its staff, this will interest you.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have a varied case load . You would be a member of one of our 4 clinical negligence teams and would support more junior members of staff, play a key role in the department, and build close client relationships. We represent all the Health Boards and Trusts in Wales and pride ourselves on our relationships with our clients and the quality of our service.

Person Specification Qualifications/Knowledge
  • Law Degree & Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (or equivalent)
  • Qualified with litigation and advocacy rights
  • Higher Degree
  • NHS Background
  • Structure of the NHS
  • Relevant healthcare related law
Experience
  • Extensive experience, post qualification, in clinical negligence/personal injury gained through practice
  • Experience of making presentations to non-legal staff
  • Experience in drafting documents and advice to clients
  • Defendant clinical negligence experience
Aptitude and Abilities
  • IT Skills/Computer literate to include the ability to learn new technologies and IT introduced
  • Ability to communicate in all formats, in plain English.
  • Ability to negotiate in often difficult or emotional circumstances
  • Conscientious, confident, flexible and professional approach to work
  • Ability to prioritise and organise own work whilst motivating the junior members team
  • Ability to recognise own capabilities
  • Evidence of excellent client care skills
  • Ability to train, mentor and support more junior members of the team
