Associate Staff Attorney

About the Role

Our Workers' Compensation law firm is seeking a Workers' Compensation attorney—experience preferred. The role is primarily remote in California except for required appearances. This is a rewarding position with meaningful client impact and clear room to grow professionally within the firm.

• Litigation execution:
  Manage all phases of litigation, including discovery, hearings, trials, mediations, and drafting legal documents such as pleadings and motions. Support senior counsel at every stage.
• Client advisory and relationship management:
  Provide clear legal opinions and strategic advice to claims representatives and insured clients.
• Technology utilization:
  Utilize e-discovery and case-management technologies to streamline legal processes.
• Risk evaluation and case resolution facilitation:
  Identify and collaborate on strategies to mitigate legal risks.
• Documentation accuracy and compliance:
  Ensure all legal documents are meticulously prepared and compliant with applicable standards.
• Timely client communication:
  Provide clear, consistent, and timely updates and recommendations.
• Contribution to organizational improvement:
  Participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and best practices.
• Ethical compliance adherence:
  Uphold the highest standards of legal ethics and compliance.

• Membership in the California State Bar.
• Prefer appropriate special licenses to practice before boards or federal courts.
• At least one year of experience as an attorney;
  Workers’ Compensation experience strongly preferred.

• Ability to cultivate strong working relationships.
• Aptitude for detailed, analytical thinking.
• Process‑oriented mindset, with proven ability to meet deadlines and stay organized.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Familiarity with the latest developments in the practice of law and related fields.
• Familiarity with insurance law a plus.
• Proficiency with technologies that reduce costs and facilitate the practice of law and remote work.

• JD degree.

The typical starting salary for this role is determined by skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. The full salary range reflects competitive market value and provides growth opportunities.
