Overview
The Corporate Counsel is an integral part of the Legal team, providing legal support to Operations, Compliance, and Business Development. The role drafts contracts, supports litigation, reviews policies, and performs legal research to minimize risk while achieving business outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements, including NDAs, SaaS agreements, and vendor contracts.
- Assist Vendor Management and senior management with contract interpretation and maintenance.
- Analyze consumer legal matters, including UCC filings, consumer bankruptcy actions, and probate matters.
- Provide litigation support, manage subpoena responses, legal holds, and monitor collections litigation.
- Respond to consumer complaints, examination requests, and licensing matters as needed.
- Review and revise policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable policies.
- Collaborate with the Compliance team, outside counsel, and third‑party service providers to resolve project‑specific issues.
- Work closely with business lines to achieve desired outcomes while minimizing legal risk and maintaining strong relationships.
- Support the General Counsel on corporate legal matters.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Law degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction, with the ability to register as in‑house counsel in Wisconsin.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience, with in‑house legal experience and/or consumer finance industry experience preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret legal documents, financial reports, and technical journals.
- Effective presentation skills to top management, public groups, and boards of directors.
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer).
