Position: Litigation Legal Assistant
Location: Midtown Manhattan, NY (Hybrid - Remote Fridays)
Compensation: $100,000-$120,000 + Overtime
Hours: 9:30 a.m.
- 5:30 p.m.
A prestigious Midtown law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to provide high‑level administrative and paralegal support to a team of attorneys. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail‑oriented professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys working on complex litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to multiple attorneys.
- Prepare and file legal documents in state and federal courts.
- Draft and format pleadings, discovery documents, and correspondence.
- Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling meetings, depositions, hearings, and court appearances.
- Coordinate with courts, clients, and opposing counsel as needed.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, Lexis Nexis, or similar databases.
- Maintain case files and organize documents electronically and in hard copy.
- Track attorney time, prepare expense reports, and assist with billing.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience in a law firm environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with Best Authority or similar citation tools.
- Strong knowledge of court rules and filing procedures.
- Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with document management systems (e.g., Net Docs) and time‑keeping software (e.g., SurePoint) preferred.
