Personal Injury Lawyer

Mike Agruss Law is looking to hire a personal injury litigation lawyer with 3+ years of experience.

We are looking for someone who is confident, independent, and a self-starter. The ideal candidate will also be quick, driven, thorough, and self-disciplined.

This is a work-from-home position, but you have to live within 50 miles of Chicago.

Compensation: between your salary, a percentage of every case you settle, and 50% of the fees for all business you bring to the firm, you can expect to make over $120,000 your first year here. However, your total compensation is uncapped and 100% in your control.

• Research case law and premises liability, and gather insurance policies, medical expenses, medical records, and other evidence relevant to the case
• Converse with clients, expert witnesses, supporting witnesses, insurance company adjusters, and medical providers to gather information
• Represent the client at hearings, trials, mediations, depositions, and litigation
• Supervise and delegate tasks to the team of legal assistants, personal injury paralegals, case managers, litigation paralegals, and legal secretary
• Review, modify, and draft motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, claims, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents
• Record and update the status of all case files in the case management system
• Settle on the clients’ behalf when appropriate and negotiate reasonable agreements

• Experience taking depositions (parties, witnesses, treating physicians, and experts)
• Experience with mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences
• Trial experience (first or second chair)
• Experience managing own caseload of 50+ cases
• A bachelor’s degree and a J.D. degree is required
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, research, and communication skills are desired
• Proficiency in computers is vital

Compensation

$120,000 + Total compensation

Our personal injury practice focuses on car crashes, premises liability, dog bites, and other injury cases. Year over year, we have grown both in cases and in gross revenue. In 2025, we signed up 975 new cases, settled over $17 million dollars in cases, and donated 2,700 backpacks, 300 winter coats, 500 winter hats, and 500 pairs of winter gloves.
