Job SummaryAZDES Office of Inspector General is seeking an experienced Administrative Law Judge (Specialist) to conduct administrative hearings related to social services programs. This is a contract-to-hire, fully remote role with long-term potential.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct administrative hearings (in person or telephonic)
- Ask questions, manage the hearing process, and maintain official records
- Make evidentiary rulings and control the course of hearings
- Perform legal research and issue legally sound decisions
- Provide guidance to parties regarding hearing procedures
- Investigate and respond to customer complaints
- Follow up to ensure hearing decisions are properly implemented
- Juris Doctor (JD) Degree – Mandatory
- ⚠️ Candidates without a JD degree will be automatically rejected
- Strong legal research and decision‑writing skills
- Experience conducting administrative hearings, especially within social services or public sector environments
- 100% Remote – Out-of-State Candidates Welcome
- Contract-to-Hire opportunity
- Start date dependent on interview completion, onboarding, and PO issuance
