DWF Law LLP is seeking to recruit a Solicitor or Associate to join our growing Travel team dealing with private international law insurance matters, particularly cross border and domestic personal injury claims, to be based in either of our Scotland offices.

The role will involve working across Defender files handling litigation arising from accidents and incidents in the context of travel and tourism predominantly personal injury and illness claims.

• Ensuring that cases are progressed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
• Strong technical ability to include a thorough grasp of principles, case law and litigation.
• Working with our valued and long-standing clients to understand requirements and manage cases in line with service level agreements and best practice.
• Prioritising work effectively and maximising efficiency in working practices
• Building stakeholder relationships both internally and externally
• Developing your technical and commercial knowledge via training or working practices.

• Experience handling own caseload of pre-litigated and Sheriff Court actions as well as assisting more senior team members with large value, complex files.
• Experience managing personal injury claims, consisting of Motor, EL/PL, some Product Liability, Travel and Recoveries (damage only).
• Insurance litigation experience is essential.

• Experience handling litigation arising from accidents abroad

• Experience of acting for Defenders, including litigation experience
  .
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and to work effectively under pressure.
