Remote Contract Family Law Attorney - 1099 or W2 Options

Salary: $75 - $200 per hour

We are a growing family law practice based in California, currently focused on child custody modification disputes. Our firm is expanding and plans to grow to 4–6 attorneys and a similar number of support staff by the end of next year. We value a collaborative, problem‑solving culture and seek professionals who prioritize resolution over unnecessary aggression.

This contract attorney will assist with family law matters, primarily child custody modifications.

Responsibilities include:

• Drafting and finalizing legal documents
• Reviewing and responding to opposing counsel
• Negotiating settlements
• Representing clients in court when necessary

• Flexible hours; work from home at your convenience
• Must meet all court and internal deadlines
• Weekly check‑in meeting required

• Clio Suite (Manage, Draft, etc.)
• Microsoft Office
• Training provided as needed

• Licensed attorney in California
• Experience in family law, especially child custody disputes
• Collaborative and resolution‑focused approach
• Comfortable working independently and managing deadlines
• Draft and finalize requests for orders and related legal documents
• Review and respond to filings from opposing counsel
• Negotiate out‑of‑court settlements with opposing counsel
