No billables, 100% remote for a nationwide carrier. Salary $145,000 - $220,000 per year.
- Represent the company in insurance defense litigation, including trials, hearings, depositions, and motion practice.
- Develop and implement defense strategies to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Handle complex cases involving personal injury, property damage, and other claims covered under insurance policies.
- Collaborate with claims professionals, insureds, and experts to assess legal strategies.
- Manage all aspects of trial preparation, including discovery, legal research, and drafting of pleadings and motions.
- Provide legal advice and risk assessments to internal stakeholders regarding potential litigation and trial exposure.
- Member in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in insurance defense litigation, including trial experience.
- Extensive knowledge of California civil procedure, insurance law, and relevant case law.
- Strong courtroom presence and ability to argue cases effectively in front of a jury.
- Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload independently and work collaboratively within a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and other legal professionals.
