• Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
• Render opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
• Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations under oath
• Defend assigned matters by trial or dispositive hearing as applicable
• Document files in a clear and professional manner for understanding by various stakeholders

• 2-6+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury
• Juris Doctor degree
• Admission to the WA State Bar and licensed in good standing to practice law in Washington
• Ability to travel as required for trials, hearings, and conferences
• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to follow complex instructions and manage multiple tasks

• Civil litigation experience
• Insurance defense-related litigation experience
• Professional communication skills in person, via telephone, and in writing
