We are on the lookout for a driven and detail-focused Cost Draftsperson to join the team.
In this pivotal role, you will prepare and manage detailed costs budgets and bills of costs, ensuring that costs are accurately drafted and recovered in line with the latest legal standards. You will work closely with our legal teams, providing essential support and contributing to the firm’s success by maximising cost recoveries and advising on cost-related strategies. - Preparation of detailed bills of costs, costs schedules and costs estimates
- Review of opponents points of dispute and preparation of replies
- Preparation of costs budgets
- Reviewing opponents costs budgets, preparing BDRs, Precedent Ts and negotiating
- Potential to attend CCMC hearings
- Ensure the quality of work produced is to the highest standard
- Manage daily workloads and meet service level agreements
- Work to deadlines and prioritise matters to ensure targets are delivered
- Keep the client regularly updated on current matters
- Maintain good working relationships with internal colleagues
- Maximise the firm’s profitability while maintaining high client care standards
- Adhere to the firm’s policies
- Any other duties as reasonably required by the business
- Proven experience of drafting bills of costs and costs budgets
- Experience of Proclaim
- Experience of Cost Master
- Organisational, planning and communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good general IT skills
