Allstate’s summer law clerk program is a paid**,
** ten-week experience that is primarily remote, with the potential for occasional in-person attendance. While the role is structured as remote, estimated travel to Allstate’s Chicago offices and to Allstate’s Washington, D.C. Federal Affairs Office will be required. The clerkship offers summer law clerks the opportunity to work with multiple divisions within the department, including Global Litigation, Employment Law, Business Law, Compliance, Corporate Law, and Government and Industry Relations.

Allstate’s Law & Regulation Department operates under a clear structure giving law clerks visibility into how legal work directly supports business growth and risk mitigation.

A summer law clerk’s responsibilities include legal research, preparation of legal memoranda, and oral presentations under the supervision of a licensed Allstate attorney.

Law clerks will be paired with a dedicated attorney-mentor and will participate in structured programming that highlights how the department executes its legal and strategic goals. They may also observe internal strategy sessions, and business-unit briefings.

The salary is competitive, and the position begins in early June 2026. Ideal candidates should have outstanding research and writing skills, along with effective oral communication skills. Allstate is looking for students to

Law school transcripts are required. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is expected, along with demonstrated excellence in research, writing, and analytical skills.
