Seeking an experienced litigation lawyer to join our growing practice. The successful candidate will have significant experience in commercial litigation and/or foreclosure matters, with the ability to manage files independently from start to finish. This role is well‑suited to a lawyer who enjoys courtroom advocacy, strategic litigation work, and direct client engagement.

Responsibilities

Managing a caseload of commercial litigation and/or foreclosure files from inception through resolution

Conducting legal research and providing strategic advice to clients

Drafting pleadings, notices of application, affidavits, legal briefs, and other litigation documents

Conducting and defending examinations for discovery

Appearing in court on contested and uncontested matters

Participating in mediations, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation

Communicating directly with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders

Contributing to the development and growth of the firm's foreclosure practice, as applicable

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum of 4 years’ experience in commercial litigation, insurance defence, and/or foreclosure matters

Demonstrated courtroom experience, including at least one full trial as lead or co‑counsel

Experience conducting a minimum of six examinations for discovery

Strong drafting skills, particularly in relation to pleadings and applications

Excellent oral advocacy, analytical, and problem‑solving skills

Ability to manage files independently with minimal supervision

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Membership in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia, or eligibility for transfer

Work Environment & Flexibility
We recognize the importance of flexibility and work‑life balance. The position offers remote work options, subject to the needs of the practice. The successful candidate will be required to attend the office for client meetings, internal meetings, and court appearances on an as‑needed basis. Once the candidate has demonstrated the ability to perform at a satisfactory level, the position offers some geographic flexibility.

With reasonable advance arrangements, the lawyer may have the opportunity to work remotely from another country for a limited portion of the year.
