Civil Litigation Attorney

Overview

Taylor Law Office is seeking a full-time Civil Litigation Attorney to join our growing insurance defense practice. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of an established, fast-paced firm. We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, communicates well with clients, and can manage litigation matters efficiently from early evaluation through resolution. Candidates with insurance defense experience are preferred, but strong civil litigators are encouraged to apply.

• Manage a caseload of auto-related civil litigation matters from intake through resolution
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and settlement communications
• Take and defend depositions; prepare clients/witnesses for deposition and trial
• Conduct legal research and write persuasive briefs and memoranda
• Communicate directly with clients, adjusters, opposing counsel, and court personnel
• Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances as needed
• Coordinate with paralegals and support staff to track deadlines and maintain case strategy

• Active West Virginia Bar admission required
• Litigation experience required; insurance defense / auto litigation preferred
• Strong writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
• Professional client-facing communication and relationship-building ability
• Organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing multiple files
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word/Outlook and other Windows-based programs

This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work based on case needs and court schedules. This role also involves statewide travel within West Virginia as needed for hearings, depositions, mediations, and other client/court obligations.

• $75,000–$135,000 annual salary (based on experience and qualifications)
