SalaryThe salary ranges for this position are:
- COURT SERVICES OFFICER 1 Schedule A: $52,593.71 to $86,166.03;
Schedule B: $52,593.71 to $81,857.73. - COURT SERVICES OFFICER TRAINEE Schedule A: $49,059.79 to $77,331.24;
Schedule B: $49,059.79 to $73,464.67.
For newly hired individuals, starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014 are Schedule A;
those hired on or after are Schedule

New Jersey Judiciary, Atlantic/Cape May Vicinage is seeking an innovative and customer-focused candidate to join the Civil Division. Under the direction of the Court Executive 1B (Assistant Civil Division Manager) or other supervisory personnel, the selected candidate will perform case management functions related to docketing through dispositions, analyzing, monitoring, and processing cases in accordance with court rules and established practices. This position involves case processing in both Special Civil (landlord/tenant, small claims, special civil) and Civil (Law Chancery).
Remote Work: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings.
Note:
Experience creating documents, reports and analyses with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Adobe Acrobat Pro is helpful. Significant customer service experience is also desired.
- Moderate virtual court events using both Zoom and Microsoft Teams
- Work with judges and team leaders to set priorities
- Create and maintain credible trial calendars
- Organize work to ensure efficiency; screen cases for possible referral to dispute resolutions
- Monitor casework flow; schedule meetings; compile, collect or maintain case statistics to generate reports
- Compose routine correspondence; answer questions from internal and external customers
- Explain judiciary policies or procedures to clients or customers
- Perform related duties as required
Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.
QualificationsCOURT SERVICES OFFICER 1
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and one year of paraprofessional experience in case management involving gathering, reviewing and verifying case-related information, including investigations, monitoring casework flow, interviewing clients or customers for needed information, preparing investigative fact-finding reports, and/or writing case notes or other case-related correspondence.
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional or professional experience on a year-for-year basis (one year of such experience equals 30 semester hour credits). An associate’s degree and two years of additional paraprofessional or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
