We are seeking a skilled Attorney licensed to practice in California
. This role offers remote work flexibility, with preference for candidates located in the California area. While our office is located in San Diego, attorneys may work remotely as desired. The position focuses on pre-litigation and litigation matters involving real estate, title, mortgages, foreclosure, and creditor’s rights.
- Manage litigation cases from inception through resolution.
- Oversee pre-litigation matters and clear title to real property.
- Develop case budgets, litigation strategies, and seek necessary approvals.
- Research and prepare legal analysis on risks, exposure, and case strategies.
- Draft and argue pleadings, motions, and other court filings.
- Conduct all aspects of discovery.
- Collaborate with supervising partners and clients to develop and implement case strategies.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding case status and strategy.
- Attend court hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and other proceedings (telephonic, virtual, and in person).
- Assist with bankruptcy motions, hearings, and adversary proceedings as needed.
- Handle additional duties and special projects as assigned.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in California and able to maintain all required MCLE and licensing requirements.
- Five years of real estate experience preferred; exceptional entry-level candidates with interest in real estate or mortgage law will be considered.
- Knowledge of foreclosure, real estate, secured transactions, and creditor’s rights preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and general internet research.
- Ability to meet the annual billing requirement of 1920 hours.
- Must reside in California or another state within the firm’s footprint and be available for in-person hearings in California as needed.
