Litigation Solicitor

We are working closely with highly regarded Legal 500 specialist law firm, as they continue to grow their Housing Litigation team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a Housing Litigation Solicitor, Associate, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive Advocate who is looking to join a values-led firm with genuine career progression and high-quality work.

This role sits within a well-established and expanding Housing Litigation practice
, advising a varied and respected client base including housing associations, local authorities, charitable landlords, and co-operatives nationwide.

The successful candidate will take ownership of a diverse and engaging caseload
, with exposure to complex and meaningful work that has a real social impact. Matters will include:

• Defending housing disrepair claims and supervising legal assistants
• Securing and defending anti-social behaviour injunctions
• Prosecuting matters under the Environmental Protection Act
• Handling possession proceedings, including Equality Act and mental capacity defences
• Resolving residential leasehold and shared ownership disputes
• Providing housing management advice, policy reviews, and legislative updates

You’ll join a close-knit Manchester, working collaboratively with colleagues across a 17-strong Housing Litigation team spanning 2 offices. The team is known for being supportive, approachable, and technically strong, with a genuine emphasis on development and collaboration.

• Qualified Solicitor/Chartered Legal Executive with solid experience in housing law and/or residential leasehold litigation
• Confidence in advocacy and representing clients at hearings
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to delegate and support junior colleagues

• Hybrid working model with full IT equipment and support for effective home working
• A strong technical training programme with real opportunities to develop sector expertise

Salary 50,000-£70,000 Depending on experience.
