Position: Official Court Reporter 2 (Realtime) OR - Official Court Reporter 1 (Realtime) Apprentice

SALARY: The salary range for the Official Court Reporter 1 Real-Time Apprentice position is $70,274.38 to $96,192.20 for Schedule A, and $70,274.38 to $86,113.65 for Schedule

B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to October 8, 2014, are considered Schedule

A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after October 8, 2014, are considered Schedule

B.

SALARY: The salary range for the Official Court Reporter 2 Real-Time position is $84,329.23 to $ for Schedule A, and $84,329.23 to $ for Schedule

The Judiciary offers a strong opportunity for growth.

The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an individual to provide verbatim records of judicial proceedings and other meetings or hearings, including CART for Supreme Court webcasting utilizing a stenographic reporting system or a stenographic real‑time reporting system under the direction of the Supervisor of Court Reporters.

The Official Court Reporter shall provide the basic equipment necessary to perform the job duties of this position. This position will be in the northern, central, or southern area of the state in counties to be determined. However, travel is required on occasion as this is a statewide position. Case Catalyst or Eclipse software is required for Supreme Court webcasting.

REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

Example of Duties

Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.

The selected individual will transcribe notes verbatim when transcripts of proceedings are ordered and upload stenographic notes in a readable PDF and a translated format to a Judiciary network storage server. Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications for an Official Court Reporter 1 (Realtime) Apprentice:

License/Certification: Possession of a valid Certified Court Reporter License issued by the New Jersey State Board of Court Reporting.

Apprentice Period: Must obtain a valid Certified Realtime Court Reporter Certificate issued by the New Jersey Board of Court Reporting, a valid National Certified Realtime Reporter Certificate issued by the National Court Reporters Association, or a New Jersey Judiciary Realtime Certificate, within one year…
