• Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
• Render opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
• Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations under oath
• Defend assigned matters by trial or dispositive hearing as applicable
• Document files clearly and concisely for various stakeholders within the organization

• 2 to 6+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury
• Juris Doctor degree
• Admission to the New York Bar and must be licensed in good standing to practice law in New York
• Ability to travel as required for trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to follow complex instructions and facilitate conflict resolution

• Civil litigation experience
• Insurance defense-related litigation experience
• Professional communication skills in person, via telephone, and through written correspondence
