A respected litigation-focused law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate to join its healthcare and medical malpractice defense practice. This role is open in either Raleigh or Wilmington and offers a flexible hybrid work schedule
.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of litigation experience and an interest in handling complex healthcare and medical malpractice matters. Associates in this role work closely with seasoned attorneys on high‑stakes cases representing top‑tier hospitals, health systems, clinics, and medical providers
.
- Handle healthcare litigation and medical malpractice defense matters from inception through resolution
- Work on complex liability issues alongside experienced trial attorneys
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery; take and defend depositions
- Participate in hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
- Manage an active caseload with increasing responsibility
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide exceptional client service
- Minimum 3 years of litigation experience (medical malpractice or healthcare experience preferred)
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage cases independently while collaborating within a team
- Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and comfortable in a fast‑paced environment
