Insurance Litigation Associate

Overview

Our client is expanding their downtown Toronto office and has an immediate opening for an Insurance Litigation Associate with 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in insurance defence. The successful candidate will be responsible for working on a variety of insurance litigation matters, with a specific focus on bodily injury, accident benefits, subrogation, and property claims.

• Provide outstanding client service, manage client relationships, and provide timely and effective communication.
• Work with the partners of the firm on a regular basis in their busy practices.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motion materials, and affidavits.
• Attend examinations for discovery, mediations, and pre-trial conferences.
• Prepare for and attend hearings and trials.

• Minimum of 3 years’ post-call experience.
• In good standing with the appropriate Law Society (Canada).
• Ability to work well under pressure, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Strong teamwork skills, trustworthy, accountable, proactive, and a positive work attitude.
• Strong written skills.
• Experience with bodily injury, accident benefits, subrogation, and property claims is preferred but not required.

• A relaxed working atmosphere and a competitive salary and benefits package.
• Currently supported by remote work on a part-time basis but the associate is expected to initially work full-time in the office.
• Our modern law office is in downtown Toronto and easily accessible by public transportation.
