Overview
Boulder County invites applications for the role of Deputy District Attorney for the 20th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. The Deputy District Attorney I is an entry level attorney; responsibilities include managing a county court docket and developing trial skills; acts as a professional representative of the Office of the District Attorney; follows office policies and procedures; seeks guidance, as necessary; demonstrates a strong work ethic and sound ethical judgment;
works well with staff, victims, witnesses, co-workers, and court staff; treats co-workers, the public, defendants, and defense attorneys with respect; maintains the highest level of professionalism; at all times maintains the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and ethics.
Examples of Duties:
- Bachelor of Law (LLB) or Juris Doctorate (JD)
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado
- Valid driver's license
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of all Colorado statutes that the District Attorney is mandated to enforce
- Knowledge of the rules of procedure, rules of evidence, and general workings of the judicial system
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees, court officials, law enforcement, the public, and other government agencies
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred qualification)
In addition to the Boulder County benefits, the District Attorney’s Office offers:
- Work From Home two-days a week, if duties allow, after 6 months of employment with the office
- An enhanced Extended Parental Leave Policy for up to an additional 12 weeks of parental leave.
This is a full-time, benefited position with the 20th Judicial District Attorney’s Office
-Boulder County. Work hours are Monday through Friday, as well as periodic on call duty. The Deputy District Attorney will work out of the Boulder or Longmont office.
Salary/Hiring Range - $96,480-$102,288.
Under FLSA guidelines this position is exempt.
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
