Home Working Clinical Negligence Solicitor

A respected legal practice in Leeds is seeking an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor (Grade B or equivalent) to join its established team. The position offers fully remote working, with the requirement to attend the Leeds office once a month, providing a blend of independence and team collaboration.

This role operates within a thriving Clinical Negligence department known for handling complex, high-value claims, supported by accredited specialists and a strong reputation in claimant work.

You will manage your own caseload of clinical negligence matters, focusing on proactive case progression, delivering exceptional client service, and maintaining commercial awareness. Collaboration is central; you will work closely with colleagues across all levels, sharing insight and contributing to the team’s success to mentor and support junior team members also exist.

Key Responsibilities

You will run a clinical negligence caseload from initial instruction through to resolution, making strategic decisions, liaising with clients and medical experts, drafting legal documents, negotiating settlements, and litigating when required. You will be expected to contribute to departmental targets, support complex cases, and take an active role in achieving wider objectives.

Requirements

You should be a qualified solicitor with at least five years’ post‑qualification experience, or equivalent experience, in clinical negligence litigation. You must be confident managing a varied and complex caseload, adopting a commercial, efficient and client‑focused approach. Strong drafting, negotiation and communication abilities are essential, along with excellent attention to detail, good organisation and IT proficiency. You should be comfortable working autonomously while also contributing to team development through mentoring and support.
