Broadview Energy Solutions B.V. is part of HAL Investments and focuses on investments in and the development of sustainable energy solutions. The current portfolio companies are engaged in small‑scale distribution of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and biomethane (bioLNG). Broadview Energy Solutions is also active in the production, sale, and leasing of equipment such as biogas upgraders, CO₂ capture installations, cryogenic storage tanks, and trailers, which are essential for the production, transport, and storage of LNG, bioLNG, and liquid CO₂ (LCO₂).

With customers such as Equinor, Engie, Air Liquide, Wärtsilä, VTTI, Linde, Space

X, and Blue Origin, the company negotiates increasingly large and complex contracts. Activities are spread across four subsidiaries: DMT Environmental Technology B.V. (Netherlands, Joure and Venray), Cryogenic Container Solutions B.V. (Netherlands, Rotterdam), Barents Naturgass AS (Norway), and Aritas Cryogenics (Turkey).

The Broadview Energy Solutions team consists of ten professionals, headquartered in Rotterdam. The culture is characterized by entrepreneurship, a long‑term vision, expertise, and a pragmatic, analytical, fact‑based approach.

• Identifying business risks across the various markets and activities, and further implementing and monitoring the legal business system of the Broadview group.
• Developing and maintaining internal contract templates and legal processes, and establishing legal guidelines for the subsidiaries.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, distribution agreements, license agreements, and cooperation contracts.
• Monitoring projects for compliance with project agreements.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations (including contract law, competition law, and commercial law).
• Maintaining relationships with external counsel and other advisors.
• Supporting strategic partnerships, such as agencies and distribution agreements.

We are looking for a proactive, pragmatic lawyer who is experienced in project‑based work, commercially minded, and strong in contract law.

• A completed master’s degree in law and at least seven years of experience in contract law, gained at a leading law firm and/or as in‑house counsel within an internationally operating company.
• Experience with complex commercial contracts in an international context (particularly in Europe and the US).
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills (in English) and the ability to think strategically while translating legal advice into practical solutions.
• The ability to train employees in the subsidiaries to recognize risks and to persuade them of the importance of risk awareness.
• The experience and mindset to ensure you are involved as legal counsel from the early stages of projects.
• Experience in the energy sector and/or a production environment is an advantage.
• Experience with EPC projects is a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally approximately once a month.

The role is based in Rotterdam, but the legal counsel is expected to be regularly present at the subsidiaries to provide guidance. Given the Dutch office locations, living more central in the Netherlands may be advantageous. Initially, the work will mainly take place at the office, with the option to work from home, however in consultation.
