Position SummaryWe're looking for a licensed attorney with corporate experience and audit response expertise to manage the firm's audit process. The role focuses on reviewing financial records, legal documents, and compliance reports, working closely with attorneys and external auditors to deliver timely, accurate responses while safeguarding confidentiality and attorney-client privilege.
Essential Functions- Review audit requests, assess billing, and gather necessary documents—including legal files, corporate records, and SEC filings—to complete audits.
- Communicate with accountants, clients, the firm's Audit Committee, the General Counsel's office, and billing personnel regarding audit specifics.
- Use firm software (iManage, InTapp, Excel) to create Audit Request Forms, note entries, and collaborate with various departments for information, monitoring responses for accuracy.
- Track timekeeper responses, revise content, and obtain additional clarifications when required.
- Draft and revise audit letters in accordance with the firm’s risk and audit policies.
- Coordinate with review attorneys to refine drafts, then finalize and deliver audit responses.
- Assist with additional assignments requested by the Corporate and Securities Practice Group.
The Audit Attorney must have a minimum of 5 years of corporate experience, including audit response responsibilities, a JD from an ABA‑accredited law school, and an active license in Illinois, New York, or Ohio. Candidates should reliably use iManage, InTapp, or similar platforms, excel in MS Office, and exhibit strong communication, organizational, and client-service skills. The salary range for this position is $114,000–$151,000 per year, with additional discretionary bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
