On Call Counsel is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Law Clerk licensed to practice in California to support our legal team in a full-time, remote capacity. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in insurance defense litigation, with a strong command of the discovery process and document review. This position requires excellent legal research and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative legal team.

• Conduct document review for relevance, responsiveness, privilege, and confidentiality in active insurance defense matters
• Assist with discovery strategy, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
• Organize and maintain case files and discovery logs
• Review medical records, expert reports, and deposition transcripts
• Draft legal memoranda, case summaries, and assist in preparing motions and pre-trial documents
• Support attorneys with trial preparation and case strategy
• Ensure strict adherence to court deadlines and procedural requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active California bar license (in good standing)
• Strong working knowledge of California civil procedure and discovery rules
• Proficiency with eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Relativity, DISCO, Everlaw)
• Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment

• Experience handling bodily injury, premises liability, or property damage claims
