GL/Excess Claims Adjuster III | Remote at Allianz Reinsurance
Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of GL/Excess Claims in multiple states.
- Handle new loss assignments, reassignments, and proper reserve setting.
- Perform coverage analysis, determine responsibilities to defend, tasks to indemnity, and choice of law.
- Identify issues requiring resolution, select appropriate methods, focusing on risk transfer and optimal outcomes.
- Draft complex coverage letters, including reservation of rights, DISCLAIMERS, and responses to “push back” letters.
- Develop legal strategy with counsel and manage GL/Excess litigation in line with litigation guidelines, coordinating with both Coverage Counsel and Defense Counsel.
- Identify cases suitable for trial, prepare pre‑trial reports, and participate in trial activities.
- Report to a Claim Manager within the GL/Excess group.
- Utilize artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g., generative AI) to support claims work.
- Minimum of 5–10 years of GL/Excess Claims experience; a progressive track in GL is preferred.
- Technical background with emphasis on coverage issue identification and policy interpretation.
- Experience handling child abuse/sexual assault matters.
- In‑depth knowledge of liability policy language and coverage interpretation.
- Work experience in a regulated environment and ability to ensure compliance with company procedures.
- College degree.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring immigration sponsorship, now or in the future (including holders of H‑1B, H4, L‑1, L‑2, TN, OPT, CPT, and other non‑immigrant visas).
Range: $100,000–$140,000
Actual base salary may vary based on experience, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual incentive program.
