This hybrid role based in the Orlando Metro Area or surrounding region will report to our Orlando, FL Trial Division office.
We are seeking an experienced litigation attorney to manage insurance defense cases across Central Florida and throughout the state. Experience in Florida federal courts is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities- Draft pleadings and conduct written discovery.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Perform legal research and prepare dispositive motions.
- Manage cases through trial.
- Lead mediations and represent clients in Florida state court trials.
- Demonstrate requisite trial advocacy skills independently as lead counsel or as part of a team.
- Effectively utilize technology and collaborate with support staff to ensure efficient case management.
- Maintain awareness of changes to the law, technology, local rules, and procedural requirements.
- Provide factually, legally, and analytically sound opinions on case valuations.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key associates, claims partners, and industry contacts.
- Communicate effectively, proactively identifying and meeting client and internal expectations.
- Serve as a mentor for junior attorneys and NTD staff.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
- General liability and bodily injury claims (personal and commercial lines)
- Auto liability, UM/UIM
- Premises liability (slip/trip and fall)
- Dog bite and homeowner’s claims
- Trucking and complex injury cases (e.g., surgical, TBI)
- Liquor liability, wrongful death, and foodborne illness claims
- No billing requirement.

EducationJuris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
License/Certification/DesignationMaintains an active license in the state in which the position is located.
ExperienceTypically, more than eight years of relevant civil litigation experience in property and casualty insurance defense or subrogation.
Knowledge, Abilities and SkillsSignificant litigation experience in property and casualty insurance defense or subrogation; complex legal practice across courts and agencies; highly effective written and verbal communication; collaborative, mentoring, negotiation, problem solving; strong time management; computer savvy; adaptability to changes in law and technology; strong leadership and ethical compliance. Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences, may take precedence.

Working Conditions:
Generally, a normal office environment, but may be staffed working from home. Frequent travel, occasional overnight travel, extended hours. Valid driver’s license required.
