Malay Language Expert; Remote

• Compensation: $50 per hour

We are hiring for one of our clients seeking a Malay Audio Generalist Evaluator Expert to support a high-impact audio AI research project.

In this role, you will work on transcription, annotation, and evaluation tasks that help train and benchmark advanced language models. This position is ideal for candidates with strong analytical skills who are fluent in both Malay and English and enjoy translating complex audio and visual information into clear, structured written content.

Transcribe and Optimize Audio & Video

• Listen to, analyze, and transcribe audio and video content in Malay following detailed instructions and guidelines
• Produce high-quality written outputs in Malay, with supporting work in English when required
• Ensure clarity, accuracy, and strict adherence to formatting and stylistic standards
• Capture tone, intent, and regional language variations where relevant

• Establish expectations for correct and high-quality responses in consumer audio contexts
• Develop detailed evaluation rubrics and grading guidelines in Malay and English
• Document standards to ensure consistency across reviewers and model evaluations
• Identify edge cases, ambiguities, and linguistic complexities specific to Malay

• Run prompts through language models and evaluate generated responses
• Assess outputs for accuracy, fluency, completeness, and instruction-following
• Provide structured feedback to improve model performance in Malay audio tasks

• Participate in quality assurance and review cycles
• Ensure tasks, rubrics, and outputs meet project quality standards
• Collaborate with project leads to improve task design and resolve ambiguities

• Native or near-native fluency in Malay (spoken and written)
• Professional fluency in English
• Strong writing, editing, and analytical skills
• Ability to accurately transcribe and analyze Malay audio content
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured guidelines
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Availability to commit 10–20 hours per week

• College students or recent graduates
• Background in linguistics, humanities, social sciences, journalism, or technical disciplines
• Experience with transcription, annotation, localization, evaluation, or research workflows
• Familiarity with Malay dialects, regional speech patterns, and modern language usage
• Interest in artificial intelligence, language models, or applied research environments
• Fully remote with flexible working hours
• Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded depending on project needs and performance
• Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise based on work completed
