Contreras Translation & Interpretation Services is currently looking for qualified Spanish interpreters for upcoming Special Education assignments in Westchester County, NY. These assignments may include IEP meetings, psychological evaluations, physical therapy sessions, speech and language therapy, social history interviews, student testing (Regents exams), CPSE/CSE meetings, Superintendent hearings, parent conferences, workshops, and related educational settings.
Assignments are available both in person (New Rochelle, Rye, and surrounding areas in Westchester County, NY) and remotely via video call or phone.
In-person coverage in the areas listed is a primary requirement.
Candidates must be able to accept on-site assignments and live within a reasonable commuting distance to the locations above.
- Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and high proficiency in English
- Proven experience interpreting in Special Education settings (IEP, CPSE/CSE, student testing)
- Strong skills in consecutive interpretation and sight translation
- Experience handling education-specific terminology (e.g., IEP, evaluations, therapy terminology, Regents)
- Professional interpretation/translation certification is highly desired
- Familiarity with confidentiality standards and educational processes (FERPA awareness a plus)
- Ability to work both in-person and remotely; reliable internet and basic remote-work equipment for video assignments
